Bangor, ME – The Acadia Hospital has promoted Brent Scobie, LCSW, CCS, to the position of Vice President, Chief of Clinical Services. In his new role Scobie will be responsible for guiding Acadia’s social work, psychology, and rehabilitation services as well as expanding non-medical active treatment provisions. Additionally, he will be an active member of Acadia Hospital’s Executive Leadership Team.
Scobie has worked at Acadia for many years, beginning his employment in 1997. Most recently he served as the Administrator for Substance Abuse Services where he successfully managed the Narcotics Treatment Program and Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program.

Scobie’s many career highlights include: Development and implementation of Acadia's Well Child Clinic, program innovations to expand client engagement in therapeutic treatments, project leadership on initiatives to assess the quality of pediatric medical homes in Penobscot County and development of Milieu Infant Massage services and family treatment drug court programs at Acadia.
Scobie Graduated from the University of Maine in 1997 with a Masters Degree in Social Work. He is currently a licensed clinical social worker and board certified clinical supervisor.
His professional memberships include: American College of Addiction Treatment Providers and Maine Association of Substance Abuse Providers. Scobie has many professional interests that revolve around evaluation and treatment of adolescent addiction, applications of motivational interviewing in acute care settings and outpatient medical practices, and the use of Methadone and Buprenorphine replacement therapies.
