Bangor, ME – Acadia Hospital Healthcare Charities has hired its first full-time Director of Development, Lynda Rohman. “We are pleased to have a development professional of Lynda’s caliber accept this position,” commented Healthcare Charities President Michael Crowley. “The Acadia Hospital continues to make its mark as a vital psychiatric and chemical dependency resource in Maine, and Lynda’s presence will allow for continued philanthropic growth.”
Rohman, who takes over the development responsibilities from Alan Comeau, who was recently named Acadia’s communications officer, has extensive development and non-profit organizational experience. Most recently, Rohman was senior development officer at the University of Maine, responsible for developing external relationships on behalf of the university to secure private fundraising through major and planned giving. According to Rohman, “Acadia provides unique and valuable services to our community to meet the diverse needs of our child, adolescent and adult populations. I am delighted to work with a team of such high quality professionals and look forward to making connections in the community that will lead to further development of its base of support.”
Rohman will look to continue the momentum generated by Acadia Hospital’s successful Keep the Promise capital campaign, which resulted in the creation of the $1.2 million Pediatric & Family Center on the hospital’s campus on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor. “I have been impressed with Lynda’s experience and positive energy, and I am confident that she is the right person to strengthen our philanthropic giving program,” stated Acadia Hospital President and CEO David Proffitt, PhD.
